i took yesterday off and had a 'me' day. woke up w/coffee and a bit of the tour and then headed to the southern unit (i said unit) to log some mountain bike time. the john muir trail was awesome and in hindsight i should have just run laps on that the whole time. but i rode the connector/emma carlin trails and to be frank - it sucked. i think it is just the time of the year but there was tons of overgrowth and down trees. i'm all cut up on my legs and arms from thorny branched cutting my arms/legs. it was good to get out, i'm pretty comfortable with my bike set up, and i only crashed twice so i guess mission accomplished. i did re-tweak my wrist a little so that sucks but hopefully the stiffness/soreness will subside in a couple of days. came home and watched the rest of a sweet tour day in its entirety. man andy schleck went for it. they may all still be doped up on horse tranqualizers but that was one feat of strength regardless. cleaned up the house a little, took oliver to the dog part (it's been a solid week since he has exercised due to the heat) and then finished dialing in the mountain bike. i finally cut the steer tube to it's proper length and got the brakes (mostly) to stop rubbing. all in all, a great day off. the best part of the day was my skype session with robin and calvin. it was late and i was tired but boy was that a sight for sore eyes. i sure do love my family!
now i'm back at work and as soon as i logged into my email i was reminded that it sucks here. good thing i'm beginning to explore other options.
oh well, it is friday.
happy friday.
