Pulling through
On Saturday I managed to get one more long run in (~22 miles). It didn't feel all that good, but as usual I didn't really prepare as I would for a race. Under hydrated and a little calorie deficient. Also, right from the start my stomach was not happy. All things considered, I had a decent effort averaging ~ 7:30s. Usually by now I have a pretty good idea of my goals. This is what I'm thinking for this attempt:
1) Finish
2) Beat last years time
3) Sub 3:05
I'm going to try to get a few decent runs in this week, try to get ~ 12 miles in Madison this weekend, and then "taper" (hard to truly taper if you don't run high mileage).
Happy Tuesday.
